Silvia Sfligiotti

Silvia Sfligiotti is an Italian graphic designer, educator and design critic. She holds a Diploma Visual Design from Scuola Politecnica di Design Milano and a Diplôme Design Graphique from Ensad Paris. As a designer, she works mainly in the fields of publishing and cultural communication. Her works were exhibited at several design events, including the 28th Warsaw Poster Biennial 2023, Signs. Italian contemporary graphic design, Milan 2016, and the 21st and 23rd Brno Biennial.

She teaches at ISIA Urbino, the Design department of the University of the Republic of San Marino, and Scuola Politecnica di Design, and gives lectures and workshops at universities, design schools, and conferences in Italy and abroad.

She writes on visual communication and curates graphic design exhibitions. Since 2021 she’s co-editor of the book series Antologia di cultura grafica, published by Lazy Dog Press. Between 2012 and 2017 she was the co-editor of the Italian graphic design magazine Progetto grafico. Other writings can be found at Fontstand News and Eye Magazine.

Her main research areas are graphic design history and criticism, and design education from a somatic perspective.
